The Manifold That Connects the CDU to Every Chip: Mapping the Global AI Liquid Cooling Supply Chain

2026-09-12

Trillion-parameter AI models are exploding compute density, and air cooling has hit its physical limit. NVIDIA's GB200/GB300 NVL72 racks peak at 120kW to 140kW, making 100% liquid cooling the only viable path for ultra-high-density data centers. In the secondary loop, the manifold is the core hub, connecting the liquid distribution unit CDU above to each server cold plate below, distributing coolant precisely to every GPU node while keeping pressure balanced and flow controlled. With AI chips and boards so costly, micro-leaks, pressure imbalance or uneven flow can burn out racks and stop business, so the manifold demands extreme pressure resistance, zero-leak precision, weld air-tightness, corrosion resistance and flow balance, one of the highest barriers in the AI liquid cooling chain.

To serve high-flow, high-temperature, long-life AI operation, the industry is unifying interface, piping and manifold specifications for zero leakage, low loss and high stability. The mainstream systems are the OCP open standard and NVIDIA's NV series, each with distinct features and barriers, and the ecosystem now revolves around them: every AI GPU liquid cooling CDU supplier and manifold maker must conform, from connector geometry to flow characteristics, which is why the sector concentrates around a few certified vendors.

Overseas leaders bind themselves to NVIDIA's top architectures. CoolIT created Split-Flow for GB200/GB300 and entered NVIDIA's RVL list; Boyd offers 3,000 PSI manifolds and expanded its Mexico plant; nVent delivers OCP rack-level manifolds supporting racks above 125kW; Eaton offers board-level and rack-level manifolds with NVQD blind-mate connectors; Watts builds SUS304 manifolds with flow meters; and Nidec makes connectors and CDM components fully in-house. Together they dominate the high-end server liquid coolant manifold supply.

Taiwanese vendors hold the high-end supporting position. Cooler Master is the first core supplier of GB200/GB300 manifolds, with vacuum brazing approaching zero leakage; AVC leads the MGX 44RU manifold and NVQD connectors; Auras serves overseas CSPs with full-domain hydraulic simulation; Foxconn integrates manifolds, busbar power and NVLink cabling into whole racks; Delta pairs power with liquid cooling to cut rack power by over 10%; LiteON covers OCP ORv3 and MGX; and Pinda is one of the eight official MGX 44RU suppliers. The precision stainless steel liquid cooling manifold has become Taiwan's signature product.

Mainland vendors are breaking through from followers to core suppliers. Envicool, the first domestic NVIDIA Tier 1 liquid cooling vendor, covered over 80% of global NVL72 rack deliveries in 2024 and built a Hungary base; Lingyi Liminda is the only mainland vendor in Vera Rubin's manifold ecosystem, with Intel-certified connectors and early 45°C warm-water adaptation; JONHON is a rare drafter of the OCP UQD standard; Goaland delivers 200kW-class CDUs with integrated manifolds; Sugon leads 750kW immersion cooling; and BYD Electronics entered the MGX 44RU chain under the Lead Wealth brand. These OEM liquid cooling manifold suppliers are rewriting the once-overseas-dominated landscape.

A dense layer of domestic specialists covers the rest of the AI server liquid cooling manifold chain: Shenling builds LCM and RCM manifolds for racks above 40kW, Tongfei adds hydraulic simulation expertise, Sulian brings automotive anti-permeation polymer tech, Chuanhuan's hoses reach UL94 V-0, Xiangxin's assemblies withstand 3,000 PSI, and others master thin-wall seamless drawing, helium vacuum leak testing, digital flow monitoring and DI-water-safe distribution, forming a complete ecosystem from material to inspection.

The landscape is overseas leading, China catching up, and cross-strait division of labor. Overseas giants hold RVL positions on Blackwell, but Vera Rubin's 45°C warm-water era tilts gains toward scale manufacturing: Taiwanese vendors take the first-supply share of top racks, while Envicool and Lingyi Liminda have entered Vera Rubin and GB300 chains, breaking the monopoly. Two trends define the future. Delivery is converging on integrated packages: near-zero leak tolerance means the market prefers standardized, factory helium-tested, flow-optimized integrated data center liquid cooling manifold system delivery over one-off custom piping. And materials and specialty processes become the differentiation, centered on eliminating electrochemical corrosion, suppressing polymer hose gas permeability, preventing connector scaling and guaranteeing zero leakage in long-term 45°C-plus operation.

As the "blood vessel" of AI liquid cooling, the manifold's high-growth, high-barrier, high-concentration traits keep strengthening, and competition is shifting from single parts to system-level solutions. Investors should focus on domestic hidden champions bound to NVIDIA's next-generation architectures and mastering ultra-thin stainless drawing, EPDM flame-retardant piping and integration validation, because for a GPU cooling manifold manufacturer, these capabilities separate certification from scale orders, and the space for domestic substitution and global expansion is broad.

To translate these core component-level technical strengths into deployable end-to-end thermal infrastructure, solution providers need solid expertise spanning manifold hardware, CDUs, cold plates and complete piping integration.
